Packaging Rules

Wine is dispatched ex Ata Rangi to NZ Wine Home for shipping to Australia. Once at NZ Wine Home the wine is repacked into polystyrene shipping cartons that are configured to hold 8 or 15 bottles.

Therefore orders in multiples of 8 or 15 make the most of the slots available in the shipping cartons. You can order 12 bottles but be aware it will be shipped in a 15 bottle carton so will arrive with 3 empty slots.

1.5Litre Magnums and 375ml bottles

A magnum bottle (1.5L) takes up the equivalent space of 3 x 750ml bottles, or 2 x magnums take up 5 x 750ml bottle spaces. You can fit 6 magnums into a 15 bottle case.

The magnum bottles cannot be shipped in the wooden slide top boxes that are available within NZ, there are two reasons for this; to travel safely the magnums are packed into a special magnum sized polystyrene insert and sadly the wooden boxes are not fumigated so cannot be sent into Australia.

375ml bottles are treated as though they were a 750ml bottle and take up 1 x 750ml slot.

Courier delivery within Australia

Australia post makes the final courier delivery to your nominated address within Australia. They will require a signature, so if no-one is home through the day you may wish to use a work address.

If no-one is at home when they deliver, a card will be left and your wine held for up to 10 days at your closest Post Shop for you to collect at a time that suits you.

Wine for Cellaring – suggest not shipping over the hot summer months

If you are ordering wine to be cellared, we suggest you don't ship from November through till March to avoid the heat of the summer. Wine quality can be compromised if the carton gets too hot while travelling. Although all best efforts are made to prevent this, it can sometimes be unavoidable particularly through the holiday period of December / January.

An order can easily be held here and contact made on a monthly basis for your peace of mind and to check if you're ready to ship your order in the coming month.
